Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a great game where you can create different builds that can enhance your gameplay. You can choose the abilities, gear, and weapons that will all benefit you and improve your style of play. The best, most powerful and fun builds include all of the three aforementioned aspects advancing each other and improving your strength.

Characteristics of fun build:

  • gives uniqueness, everything is tailored by you and you are the one in charge
  • customization, meaning each player can choose abilities and gear perfect for their playstyle
  • fun build can make your gameplay more effective and spectacular

Now, let me guide you through what in my opinion are the top 10 best builds that are fun to play. If you see any aspects of the given build that you use a lot or want to improve, make up such a build and start having even more fun playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

1. Archer Build

This build is designed specifically for people who love to use a bow. If you love to use it, then try this build and it will certainly suit you. If you don’t use a bow very often, it might not be the best idea to rely on this build.

If we look only in terms of Hunter Abilities and using a bow as your main weapon, then this build is perfect. However, it doesn’t offer much flexibility, as it won’t boost your warrior damage significantly. Nevertheless, I think it is good to include this build here for all fans of archery in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

What’s Fun about Archer Build:

  • it boosts your Hunter Abilities the most from all builds
  • you can defeat a lot of enemies from a distance and not be threatened by face-to-face combat
  • it is perfect if you like hunting and want to gather resources from animals to later upgrade your ship
  • it makes archery easy and very effective

This build was made for the true old-school Assassin’s Creed games fans. It adds boosts to all important factors you will use as an assassin. If you love playing as a true Hidden One, then this build will be probably the best one for you.

Pilgrim Assassin Build is certainly perfect in terms of killing your enemies from the shadows and doing it unnoticed. However, I believe that its main disadvantage is the overall focus only on Assassin Abilities. I prefer to always combine it with Poison or Fire Abilities to have a bit of a mix between different aspects.

What’s Fun about Pilgrim Assassin Build:

  • it lets you become a true assassin
  • allows you to develop stealth abilities to the highest degree
  • makes sneaking and killing from shadows the most effective
  • brings back the old Assassin’s Creed vibe

This particular build is very specific. If you want to use poison in your battles and you like to sneak around and assassinate your enemies from the shadows, then this might be your choice. The build combines both poison and assassination and creates a lethal mixture.

The main capabilities of this build are the level and damage dealt by poison abilities. You will focus on combining a weapon, preferably a dagger, with an armor that boosts intoxication duration and poison damage. All those will allow for high damage and constant poisoning effects on your adversaries.

What’s Fun about Poison Assassin Build:

  • boosts your assassin damage
  • boosts your poison damage
  • prolongs the intoxication damage
  • it makes for a perfect combination: poison and assassination
  • makes gameplay much easier in early to mid game

Fire Build is one of the most fun builds in the game. Your capabilities are endless over here. You can go anywhere from here, it all depends on how you want your gameplay to look.

The Fire Build includes mainly a heavy tank kind of build. You can deal a great deal of damage with this build, but you can also invest in assassin abilities to focus on stealth a little bit more. It is a perfect mixture of a classic assassin vibe but also strong hell-warrior abilities.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about warriors in Ancient Greece? Let me answer it, you probably think about “THIS IS SPARTA”. Then thisbuild is exactly what you need, a warrior build for a Spartan Hero, a “300” looking badass.

Warrior Build focuses specifically on dealing the most damage. It is a true Sparta build that aims to defeat your opponents the fastest and deal the most damage. This build will certainly be perfect for players who like a very offensive style of play.

What’s Fun about Warrior Build:

6. Athenian Hero Build

Body Image

The Athenian Hero build is a really fun mix between archer and warrior styles of play. For all the fans of using a bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but who also like to have their warrior stats boosted, this build might be perfect. If you combine the armor with weapons and abilities well, you can create a really powerful build.

The main capabilities of this build are the boost to the Hunter Damage and Hunter Abilities. While armor boosts those aspects, your weapons should boost both Hunter Damage and also provide well-balanced advantages to damaging your enemies in direct combat. I do not use a bow that often, but if you are a fan of long-distance fighting, then you might be interested in creating this build.

What’s Fun about Athenian Hero Build:

  • it allows you to become a Legolas type of warrior whose most dangerous weapon is their bow
  • it makes hunting and using your bow very effective

7. Greek Hero Build

Image
Body Image

What I love the most about Odyssey’s builds is their flexibility. Just now, we covered an offensive-oriented build, but already in the next place we have a build that is waydifferent and focuses on defense the most. For me, this build is one of the best, if not the best, because it lets you play Odyssey as a real tank.

Greek Hero Build focuses on protection, as it boosts your defenses against all kinds of damage. This is perfect for two types of players - those who like to be safe and those who like to rush into the battle without thinking about protection. This build allows you to run into battle and just fight and wreak havoc without worrying about being defeated.

What’s Fun about Greek Hero Build:

  • boosts your defense
  • lets you play as a tank
  • this build allows you to throw yourself into the battle and just fight without worrying about damage received

Image

If you don’t like using fire or poison and prefer to deal high damage in every battle you are in, then CRIT Build is the one you should choose. These high CRIT chance and damage stats can make you defeat your opponents very swiftly every time you face them. Give it a try and see for yourself!

The build boosts CRIT Chance and CRIT Damage very significantly. It allows you to deal a lot of damage, boosts the times you can deal such CRIT Damage, and makes your battles much easier. It is a really powerful combination and I recommend everyone trying this build at least for some time during your gameplay.

What’s Fun about CRIT Build:

  • it makes your battles much easier and more effective
  • it allows you to focus on boosting aspects other than fire and poison abilities
  • this build can be combined with Assassin abilities to create a great CRIT Assassin hybrid build

9. Persian Build

Image
Body Image

Kassandra wearing the Persian Armor Set and wielding the Edge of Time dagger

This build is a little bit extra on this list, as you can only have it if you bought the first DLC to Odyssey - Legacy of the First Blade. This build is a great nod to Prince of Persia fans. It is also important to underline that it combines the best aspects of an assassin but also fire builds and hence offers an interesting play style.

The main aspects of this build focus on assassinations and using fire. You can use a stealthy approach, but at the same time, you will be relying on fire abilities. One of the final important tools to use is the ability to slow down time, which will make your battles easier in case you are detected.

What’s Fun about Persian Build:

  • it allows for a mixture of stealthy and fighting-oriented styles of play
  • you can deal with your enemies both with great firepower and in an interesting way by slowing the time

I believe that over here we have the winner in terms of the best builds. Especially, if you are looking for an offensive build. Arena Fighter Build is a very strong and aggressive build which aims at dealing as much damage as possible. If you are looking for that, then you have to try this build.

The build boosts all sorts of damage so you have a huge flexibility in choosing weapons. You can choose all sorts of different weapons to use with this build. What’s more, regardless of your choice, the weapon will still get boosts and will be just as deadly as the ones I wrote in suggested weapons to use with this build.

What’s Fun about Arena Fighter Build:

  • flexibility because you can pick any weapon that suits you and it will still be perfect for this build
  • freedom to play in whichever way you prefer, either as heavy hitter with heavy blunts, or swift warrior using daggers, the choice is yours
  • incredible boost to overpower abilities, restoring health, and making sure you can battle tens of enemies at once

I think that the best aspect of builds in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is their flexibility. You can craft your own build, one that will suit you perfectly. So try it out, play the game, and create a build that’s the most fun for you. Experiment and see what you like in the game and invest in that, equip yourself with such armor and weapons that will play into what you like.

Along the way, you will only get better and progress more in the game. Odyssey is huge and you have tons of things you can do there, so try as many possibilities as you like. Hope this short ranking will help you in choosing one of many possible builds you would like to get!
