Let's Start With The Old School Mortal Kombat X Characters:

1. Ermac

A Mysterious and Evil psychokinetic Ninja created from many lost souls in outworld that works for Shao Khan. For a Long time this Mortal Kombat character was just urban myth. He first appeared in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 as a Scorpion palatte swap with his own moves.

2. Goro

A half-human half- dragon warrior. Goro was the running champion in Mortal Kombat for 500 years before the start of the first game. He was defeated by Liu kang in Mortal Kombat 1. Sadly to play as Goro in Mortal Kombat X, you have to preorder the game.

3. Jax

A US Special Forces Officer and Superior to Sonya Blade. Jax first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2. His popularity made him a fan favorite and he appeared in almost every game since.

4. Johnny Cage

A Martial Arts Film star with a nasty attitude. Johnny Cage first appeared in Mortal Kombat one as the comic relief. Many fans see him as the video game version of Jean-Claude Van Damme.

5. Kano

A International Arms dealer, mercenary, and Fugitive. Kano is constantly being hunted down by Sonya Blade and Jax. Kano First appeared in Mortal Kombat 1, but has been featured in a few Mortal Kombat games since his first appearance.

6. Kenshi

A blind warrior with psychokinetic powers. Kenshin has a long time hatred for Shang Tsung. He first appeared in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and again in the 2011 Mortal Kombat remake as a DLC character. Fans like him because of his fighting style and story.

7. Kitana

Kitana is the princess of the realm of Edenia and the daughter of Queen Sindel. Kitana use to serve Shao Kahn as an elite assassin before becoming one of the good characters. She first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2 and is by far one of the most popular characters in the franchise.

8. Kung Lao

He is a former Shaolin monk and a former member of the White Lotus Society. Kung Lao is the best friend of Liu Kang.

9. Liu Kang

a Shaolin monk who enters the Mortal Kombat tournament to save Earthrealm. Liu kang is the Series Champion since the beginning of the franchise. Many beginners like Liu Kang for his easy to learn moves and fighting style.

10. Mileena

A monstrous deformed clone of Kitana. She once served the emperor of Outworld until his defeat and death. Now she tries to rise and gain control of Outworld herself. In Mortal Kombat 2 she is the go to character for advanced players due to her strong stats and moves.

11. Quan Chi

A sorcerer and necromancer. He will ally himself with anyone who can help him advance his own goals.

12. Raiden

The thunder god and protector of Earth, Raiden defends the planet from threats with his warriors. He has many supernatural powers such as teleportation, flight, and control of the elements.

13. Reptile

Reptile is a Raptor, a humanoid reptilian creature and serves Shao Kahn with the hope that his people will be revived someday. Reptile was first a hidden character in the original Mortal Kombat. He has since appeared in almost every title after that and has evolved with the times.

14. Scorpion

Scorpion is a revenant living in the Netherealm. He seeks vengeance against anyone responsible for the death and destruction of his clan and the death of his wife and children.

15. Shinnok

is a former Elder God who was imprisoned in Netherealm. He rules it with the sorcerer Quan Chi and seeks revenge on Raiden. In popularity Shinnok is one of the least popular characters in the franchise. He serves as the final boss in Mortal Kombat X.

16. Sonya Blade

she is a United States Special Forces Officer. Her goal is to capture Kano, as well as stop his gang, the Black Dragon. In later games Jax joins her in her mission as a friend and look out.

17. Sub-Zero

In Mortal Kombat there are actually two Sub-Zero. They are Brothers with the same ice manipulating powers. The Original Sub-Zero dies after Mortal Kombat 1 and his brother took his place in Mortal Kombat 2. The Original Sub-Zero was ordered to Kill Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat one but failed when he was killed by Scorpion out of revenge. His younger brother took up the mantle of Sub-Zero to honor his older brother.

18. Tanya

Tanya is the most untrustworthy character in the game’s franchise. She comes off as sweet and innocent but she is ruthless and cunning. She is classified as a survivor, doing whatever it takes to do to survive, but in doing so she has betrayed everyone including her home world. She will appear in mortal Kombat X as a new DLC Character.

19. Cassie Cage

Cassie cage is a new character in Mortal Kombat and is the Daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. Cassie Cage leads the new Mortal Kombat team against the forces of evil.

20. D'Vorah

is an insect wielding warrior and serves as Kotal Kahn's first minister. She is one of the newest characters in Mortal Kombat X.

21. Erron Black

Erron Black is an expert marksman. He is one of Kotal Kahn's most deadly warriors as stated by the Emperor himself.

22. Ferra and Torr

Two new characters working as one. Ferra is a small warrior while Torr,is a big strong character with superhuman strength capable of overpowering any opponent.

23. Jacqui Briggs

is a new character, daughter of Jax and best friends with Cassie Cage. She doesn’t have a large role in the game is mainly seen in the story mode to fill up spot to prolong the suspense by being in pointless fights.
