15 of The Best PC Games for Girls

Ladies, ladies, ladies! This one is for you. Female gamers are always on the hunt for a good game that appeals to us. Your search is now over. Here are the 15 Best PC Games for Girls that will help you fill all your free time with hours of ridiculously great gameplay.

15. Undertale

Undertale Gameplay

Oh, Undertale.

You came into the gaming world years ago and took it by storm. Toby Fox's Undertale had kids and adults alike dressing up like lazy skeletons and quoting talking flowers to the point where even if you hadn't played the game, you had a notion of how popular it was.

The popularity is well-deserved. Undertale brings back the old-school, 8-bit style of RPG video games that many of us grew up with. You know the type: pop-up box dialogues, random monster encounters, and the silent hero. However, Undertale takes this golden formula and gives it a new twist. Instead of killing enemies to gain EXP and strengthen your hero, you have the option of “Mercy” or to let the monster run away from you. This new battle system will not only affect your character, but the outcome of the game’s story.

Play as Frisk, the child who has fallen underground into a realm of monsters and help her get back up to the surface.

Take this mysterious, sleepy child on the adventure of a lifetime. Around every corner lurks mystery and monsters. Do you have the determination to make it through?

Each battle can end differently. It all depends on your actions. Will you fight to the end by dodging attacks and fighting back or have mercy on these monsters?

14. Ori and the Blind Forest

Ori and the Blind Forest Gameplay

Take a little bit of Disney magic, add in a dose of Metroid gameplay, and you have Ori and the Blind Forest.

This magical game plays a lot like the Metroid games of old, with new abilities gained as you progress through the platform levels. You’ll be guiding our two heroes, Ori and Sein, through a fantastical forest filled with ethereal beings and mysteries while helping to restore the light that was lost.

This game has some of the greatest art I’ve ever seen in a platformer. Give it a try; you’ll enjoy it!

Gain new abilities to access hard-to-reach areas and gather items. Careful not to fall!

Restore the balance of Nibel by rekindling the lost elements: Waters, Winds, and Warmth.

13. Her Story

Her Story Gameplay

How many of you wanted to be like Nancy Drew while you were growing up?

Her Story is next-level Nancy Drew, and this time, it’s up to you to crack the case. Sam Barlow, creator of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (that awesomely terrifying game series that forever changed our view of pyramids) and Aisle, brings us a chilling detective game that lets you figure out exactly what happened. You watch footage of a woman being questioned about the disappearance of her husband. As you search through the police database, what really happened starts to become startling clear.

Bust out the doughnuts and coffee, because you’re in for a thrilling ride with this one.

Log into the police database and watch as this woman is interviewed seven times by the police. Suspicious? It's up to you to decide.

How good are your detective skills? Piece together her story bit by bit and see if you can solve the case of what happened to her missing husband.

12. Oxygen Not Included

Oxygen Not Included Gameplay

Living in space might not be as easy as they make it seem in the movies.

In Oxygen Not Included, you take control of a mismatched colony of space rock settlers, all with their own personalities, likes, and dislikes. Unfortunately, as the title of the game suggests, oxygen is in, um... short supply in outer space. Who knew?

That means it's up to you to help your colony survive and thrive in the new world. Make sure their homes stay at the proper temperature, farm for materials, provide your colony with interesting things to do so they don't go insane, and of course, provide them with plenty of oxygen.

Who knew space people could be so fun and needy?

The brave, the few, the helpless. Guide your space peeps through rough terrain until you've created a flourishing colony.

Build and customize bases so that your colony is fed, warm, and kept alive.

11. Don't Starve Together

Don't Starve Together Gameplay

Ready to play with friends?

Don't Starve Together is the multiplayer expansion of the popular game, Don't Starve. This Tim Burton-inspired survival game features a wide variety of maps to explore, alone or with friends. If you prefer, you can play a private game amongst pals or you can make some new friends by playing online with strangers. If you're more of a solo player, you can play the game alone by going off to explore on your own. Which is your preferred method of survival?

Along the way, you have to survive against the elements and craft structures to survive. Watch out for wild animals!

Maybe ... we could have planned this a little better.

You never know what you're going to run into in the wilderness, so make sure that you come prepared!

10. Terraria

Terraria Gameplay

If you haven't heard of Terraria yet, I'm here to fill you in.

This game is amazing. The world is literally in your hands in this fun sandbox game. Not only do you get to create your virtual world, you also get to explore it and worlds created by others, defend your world, and destroy others! Spend hours perfecting your world and then journey through it. Power up your hero so that you can take down strong enemies or live a carefree life of catching bugs. The choice is up to you!

Terraria adds RPG elements to the sandbox genre by allowing for leveling and monster battles. Blast away enemies with your epic moves!

The game allows for high detail world creation. What will YOU build?

9. Unturned

Unturned Gameplay

Zombies are still all the rage, if ratings for TV shows like the Walking Dead are any proof.

Fan of the zombie-survival genre? You should go on Steam now and search for Unturned. This game’s art is highly inspired by the popular Minecraft game, with pixelated blocks being the main building elements of the game. You go around the world, crafting materials to help you better survive the harsh environment and those darn zombies. Work with your allies to stand against the zombie threat and see how long you can stay alive. Go fishing, hunting, and equip all kinds of weapons to fight back against the zombie menace.

Did I mention that the game is free to play? Yeah, it’s free to play. Get on that!

What better way to pass time during the zombie apocalypse than to go fishing? With any luck, you’ll be reeling out you and your companions’ dinner.

Battle your way through hordes of the undead with a wide variety of weapons.

8. Secret of Mana Remake

Secret of Mana HD Gameplay

Ah, right in the nostalgia!

For those of you who remember the Super Nintendo console, you may remember with fondness a game called Secret of Mana. This game had it all—interesting characters, an exciting plot, awesome gameplay, and memorable music. Remember that boss music? You always knew you were going to get your butt handed to you when it started to play.

In February of this year, Secret of Mana made its way back to our hearts. But this time, it’s on PC. The game features updated, 3D graphics and all-new voice acting for the characters. Although it’s been met with some controversy over if it’s better than the original or not, I’ll let you make that decision.

Monsters like these Rabites will try their hardest to bring you and your allies down. Fight back to gain EXP!

Your allies can help you to bring down even the toughest of foes.

7. The Walking Dead: A New Frontier

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Gameplay

Clementine’s tragic tale of survival continues in the next installment of Telltale Games’s The Walking Dead.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game series, the gameplay is akin to an interactive graphic novel, with you being in charge of making the tough decisions. You’ll also have to get your characters out of life-threatening situations by pressing buttons at the right time (and in the right order) and explore the barren wasteland that is now America.

I recommend starting back at Season One before you begin playing this one, otherwise you might be a little confused.

An older Clementine returns in Season Three of The Walking Dead. What dangers will she and her companions face this time?

The undead are around every corner. The survival of humanity rests in the decisions you make over the course of the game.

6. Stardew Valley

Starwdew Valley Gameplay

Welcome to the farm!

Going off the formula that made farming/dating simulation games like Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons so popular, Stardew Valley whisks players away to a valley filled with friendly townsfolk and a thriving community. After being left your grandfather’s farm, it’s up to you to restore it to greatness and make this community your new home! This game features also character customization as well as the option to marry!

Build your farm into a beautiful paradise. Raise crops and animals and bring in money to your farm!

Farming isn’t the only method of earning money in Stardew Valley.

5. Fran Bow

Fran Bow Gameplay

Probably the most disturbing game on our list, and perhaps the one with the most intriguing plot, Fran Bow is a dark game about a little girl living in a home for disturbed children.

At the beginning, it’s unclear what is truly wrong with Fran, or even what the events were that put her in the home, but it’s quite clear that there is something peculiar happening in her life. Gameplay is fun and challenging. You will explore various maps, and solve puzzles along the way that will allow you to delve deeper into Fran’s twisted psyche. Not for the faint-hearted, but sure to captivate fans of dark mystery games.

Fran Bow’s pills help her to find hidden clues in various maps. Can you solve the mystery of Fran’s past and help her get home?

What a strange party … I wonder what it would look like if Fran were to take a few of her pills?

4. Sims 4

Sims 4 Gameplay

A top PC games list just wouldn’t be complete without the Sims.

Sims came onto PC and created a style of gaming that hadn’t quite been tapped into yet. This simulation game allows players to create and customize various characters called “Sims” and watch them flourish in the city that you build for them. Your Sims can date one another, get married, have children, get jobs, get fired from those jobs, go party, become a werewolf, tell each other off … You name it, your Sims can do it.

Make sure your Sims get the very best by getting “expansion packs” that will allow for new outfits, new locations, new actions, and new items!

Gather all of your Sims’ closest friends for a wedding that you create! Let’s hope this marriage lasts!

Customize your home any way that you’d like!

3. Cook, Serve, Delicious

Cook, Serve, Delicious Gameplay

Cook like never before in this competitive cooking game!

This isn’t your regular cooking game. Challenge other players in a cook-off of the century or work with nearby players to man the Battle Kitchen and complete challenges. There are a number of modes you can take on so the game won’t ever get old.

Do you have what it takes to survive in this kitchen? Be fast, be quick, or you might get the boot.

Simple controls make this game fun and addictive to play. You’ll become an expert in no time.

2. Life is Strange

Life is Strange Gameplay

Life is Strange isn’t the kind of game that you’d expect from Square Enix, but the world is sure happy that the powerhouse game publisher went for it. And they definitely blew us all away.

Life is Strange puts you in the shoes of Max Caulfield, a quiet senior at Blackwell Academy who aspires to be a great photographer. Like the camera she loves so much, Max would rather watch the world around her rather than actively participate in it. All of that changes when she discovers she has the awesome ability to rewind time, altering events of the present to change her and others’ futures.

This game feels a lot like the Walking Dead games by Telltale Games, with decisions that will alter your story and change the way that other characters feel about the player. However, this game introduces some interesting puzzles that can only be solved through Max’s time-altering abilities.

First episode is free!

Something strange is going on at Blackwell Academy. Can Max use her newfound powers to discover the hidden truths about their “pristine” school?

Will you use Max’s powers for good? Or for evil?

1. Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of The Tomb Raider Gameplay

What? The video game version of Lara Croft actually looks like a human being now? Are you kidding me?

You read that right; Lara Croft is back as the Tomb Raider and she’s ready to take down any baddies that get in her way. Not only has Lara gotten an amazing, more realistic makeover, she’s also decided that crop tops and booty shorts aren’t the only thing she has in her wardrobe!

Besides her updated look, the gameplay of this latest Tomb Raider game has went to the next level. Players control Lara as she scales dangerous cliffsides, traverses across icy landscapes, cracks difficult puzzles, fights off “The Trinity”, and searches for the legendary city of Kitezh.

Lara Croft is finally the heroine that female gamers will feel proud to play as.

Lara Croft watches enemies from high above. Prepare for epic combat!

Gigantic, ancient, icy temples never looked this good.
