I always get asked what the best builds are, and what gives the best results. This is an updated best killer builds top ten list that includes the latest and greatest perks to use on a loadout. As the game adds updates and nerfs, this list is subject to change, and this is also just my humble opinion. ENJOY!

This list will be the top ten best killer builds in Dead by Daylight. Most of the perks in this game are considerably balanced so I will name which perks are the best in my opinion along with the title of the builds.

10. The Slugger

This is a build designed to maximize the number of players you can down in a match by giving away the location of downed survivors to you and making it difficult for players to find downed teammates.

  • Deerstalker (Generic Perk) - reveals the aura of Survivors that are in a Dying State for up to 36 meters from the Killer at tier 3. So crawling survivors can’t hide anymore haha.
  • A Nurse’s Calling (Nurse) - It is an aura-based perk that reveals the location of Survivors healing themselves or being healed up to 28 meters from the Killer at tier 3. This includes if a survivor is reviving a downed teammate.
  • Coulrophobia (The Clown) - A Survivor’s healing speed is reduced by up to 50% in tier 3 as long as they are within your terror radius. This makes it easier for you to catch up to Survivors and slug them when they try to heal their allies.
  • Hex: The Third Seal (The Hag) - This perk tampers with the Survivor’s aura-reading capabilities by inflicting a Blindness status effect when you land a basic or special attack on them. This effect can be inflicted upon up to 4 Survivors in tier 3 as long as the hex totem remains standing. This will further slow down the Survivor side from locating their allies and healing them.

9. The Predator

This build relies heavily on tracking down Survivors and hunting them down like a true predator. Skill is required for this build to be sufficient.

  • Bloodhound (Wraith) - This perk allows you to locate injured Survivors as their pool of blood appears bright red, making it easier to spot, and can be tracked for up to 4 seconds longer in tier 3.
  • Sloppy Butcher (Generic Perk) - This perk increases the amount of bloodshed by Survivors from Basic attacks by up to 100% in tier 3.
  • Whispers (Generic Perk) - This perk alerts you via the perk glowing when Survivors are up to 32 meters within your proximity.
  • Stridor (Nurse) - This perk is useful for locating injured Survivors from their grunts and healthy Survivors just from their breathing as it increases the volume of Grunts and Breathing by up to 50% and 25%, respectively, in tier 3.

8. The Generic Killer

This is a basic Killer build that does not require you to unlock any of the killers in the game. These perks are available to every Killer at every level. This build is generally good for early game and new players.

  • Bitter Murmur (Generic Perk) - This perk reveals the location or aura of all Survivors for up to 10 seconds every time a generator is fully repaired.
  • Iron Grasp (Generic Perk) - This perk allows you to get survivors on a hook easier by reducing the effects of Survivor’s wiggles by 75%. This makes it harder for them to wiggle out of your grasp when they are being carried to the hook.

7. The All-Seeing

If you’re a Killer that likes to start the match with loads of information at your disposal, then this build is for you.

  • Lethal Pursuer (Nemesis) - This perk reveals all of the Survivors’ locations at the beginning of the Trial, with the auras lasting for up to 9 seconds. A very handy perk to get an early jump on the match.
  • Barbeque & Chili (Cannibal) - Every time you hook a Survivor, this perk will activate giving away the location or auras of all Survivors within the 40-meter radius of the hook. If they are close to you or hiding in a locker, then this perk won’t reveal them.
  • Tinkerer (Hillbilly) - This perk will give you a Loud Noise Notification when a generator repair progress reaches 70%. Moreover, it will also give you an Undetectable status effect for up to 16 seconds. This is an amazing perk that can catch survivors off guard.
  • Bitter Murmur (Generic Perk) -  This perk reveals the location or aura of all Survivors for up to 10 seconds every time a generator is fully repaired.

6. Hex Girls

The name suggests two things, A. I am a huge scooby doo fan! And B. This build relies on nothing but Hex Perks.

  • Hex Ruin (Hag) - This perk is one of the best perks to use on a killer as it regresses Generator repair progression for all generators when they are not being worked on. The regression speed can go upwards by up to 200% of the normal speed.
  • Hex: Haunted Ground (Spirit) - This perk punishes Survivors for cleansing or blessing Hex totems by leaving all of them with an Exposed status effect for up to 60 seconds, allowing the Killer to deal a one-hit blow on a healthy survivor with their basic attack.
  • Hex: Devour Hope (Hag) - This perk rewards Killers with tokens for each time a Survivor is unhooked within 24 meters of the Killer. For 2 tokens, Killers can receive up to a 5% Haste status effect for 10 seconds. For 3 tokens, Survivors are inflicted with the Exposed status effect. And for 5 tokens, Killers get the ability to kill a Survivor with their own hands.
  • Hex: The Third Seal (Hag) - This perk tampers with the Survivor’s aura-reading capabilities by inflicting a Blindness status effect when you land a basic or special attack on them. This effect can be inflicted upon up to 4 Survivors in tier 3 as long as the hex totem remains standing. This will further slow down the Survivor side from locating their allies and healing them.

5. The One Hit Wonder

This build is geared towards leaving the Survivors vulnerable with an Exposed status effect on their every action. The damage dealt from the Killer’s Basic Attacks is doubled when Survivors are under the Exposed status effect. Meaning a one-hit down on a healthy survivor.

  • Iron Maiden (Legion) -This Killer perk leaves Survivors with an Exposed status effect every time they exit a locker. Not only that, but Killers themselves also get up to a 50% increased speed in opening lockers.
  • Make your Choice (The Pig) - This perk essentially punishes Survivors for helping out their fellow survivors. Whenever a survivor unhooks another, the rescuer is left with an Exposed status effect for up to 60 seconds.
  • Dragon’s Grip (The Blight) - This perk activates when a Survivor interacts with a generator that the Killer has kicked. The Survivor will let out a scream upon interacting with the generator, leaving their location exposed for 4 seconds. Moreover, they will also be inflicted with an Exposed status effect for up to 60 seconds.

4. The Heal Stopper

As the name suggests, this build is focused on leaving players in a forever injured state and generally making it very difficult for them to heal themselves and others.

  • Sloppy Butcher (Generic Perk) -  This perk increases the amount of bloodshed by Survivors from Basic attacks by up to 100% in tier 3.
  • Distressing (Generic Perk) - This perk increase your Terror radius by up to 26%. So Survivors will cause panic and take double the time to heal themselves and others, all the while giving away their location.

3. You’re Stuck With Me

As a Killer, your primary job is to make sure no one escapes the Trial grounds. So this build is geared towards achieving just that.

  • Hex: No One Escapes Death (Generic) - This perk activates once the Exit gates are powered. However, activating it requires some prerequisite conditions to be met. There must be at least one dull totem remaining when the exit gates are powered, which will turn into a hex totem and give you a 4% increase in movement speed while also inflicting all remaining Survivors with the Exposed status effect. This will allow you to catch up to Survivors faster and score a one-hit down before they can escape the Trial Grounds.
  • Blood Warden (The Nightmare) - This perk activates when one of the two Exit gates opens. This not only reveals the auras of Survivors standing close to the Exit Gate area but also shuts down all exit gates for up to 60 seconds if you manage to hook a Survivor while the perk is active. This will shift the game in your favor during Endgame Collapse.
  • Fire Up (The Nightmare) - This perk gives killers a stackable action speed bonus of a maximum of 20% for each generator repaired. This means that you will break Generators, Breakable Walls, and Pallets and pick up and drop survivors faster.
  • Knock Out (Cannibal) - This perk slows down the crawling speed of survivors put into a Dying State by 50%.

2. The Gen Stopper

The Survivor’s primary goal is to get all the generators started so that they can power the exit gates and escape the trial grounds. So it is your duty as the Killer to stop that from happening. This build makes it extremely difficult for generators to be completed if used correctly.

  • Hex: Ruin (Hag) - This perk is one of the best perks to use on a killer as it regresses Generator repair progression for all generators when they are not being worked on. The regression speed can go upwards by up to 200% of the normal speed. Paired beautifully with Hex: Undying
  • Hex: Undying (The Blight) - This perk transfers Hex: Ruin to the Undying totem in case Ruin’s totem gets cleansed, acting as a backup totem. Not only that, but it will also reveal the aura of Survivors within up to 4 meters of any dull totem.
  • Tinkerer (Hillbilly) - This perk will give you a Loud Noise Notification when a generator repair progress reaches 70%. Moreover, it will also give you an Undetectable status effect for up to 16 seconds. This is an amazing perk that can really catch survivors off guard.
  • Monitor & Abuse (Doctor) - This allows you to gain up to a 10° increase in your field of view.

1. Loop No More

Looping can be a frustrating thing to deal with as a Killer, especially due to them having slower movement speed and agility than Survivors. To counter this, we have the Anti-loop build for you.

  • Hex: Blood Favor (The Blight) - This perk prevents all Pallets within up to 32 meters of a Survivor from being pulled down when they lose a health state. The effect lasts for up to 15 seconds. So every time you land a hit on the Survivor, their surrounding Pallets will get blocked, preventing them from using them.
  • Bamboozle (The Clown) - This perk allows you to block one window at a time after vaulting it, with up to a 15% increase in vault speed.
  • Claustrophobia (Generic Perk) - This perk closes all nearby windows within a 32-meter radius upon fixing a generator. The windows remain closed for up to 30 seconds, giving Killers enough time to catch up to the Survivor before they can think of looping their way out of the situation.
  • Coup de Grâce (The Twins) - This perk grants you a single token every time a generator is completed. Each token consumed increases the reach of your lunge attack by up to 80%. So you’ll have an easier time landing a successful hit on Survivors trying to get away.
