10. Sell Burial Certificates (best for early game)
One of the first mechanisms players are introduced to at the start of the game is burying corpses and receiving Burial Certificates. This is an item that will be regularly awarded to the player each time they bury or cremate a corpse, but won't be awarded if a corpse is disposed of in the nearby river.
Horadric is the NPC innkeeper at The Dead Horse and the husband of Miss Chain. He is obligated by an ancient contract to purchase your Burial certificates for the constant price of 1 Silver Coin and 50 Copper Coins. The price of Burial Certificates will stay the same throughout the game.
How it works:
- For a while, corpses will regularly show up at the mortuary, delivered by Donkey. After the player progresses in their quest line, they will have to prepay Donkey 10 carrots before they can get any more corpses.
- Extra corpses and corpses with too many red skulls to give a good graveyard rating can be cremated. In order to cremate corpses, players have to unlock the crematorium technology. This tech is unlocked in the theology tech tree under the graves category.

- Improve the Church: The church can be upgraded twice, first to a Big Church, then to a Cathedral, by talking to the Bishop at Pride and following his questline. For each step, you'll need to meet a minimum Graveyard Rating and Church Rating in addition to turning in items. The church rating can be improved by crafting furniture and temporary items to add inside the building. 1. Trading Office (best for late game)
