Destiny 2 Best Opulent Weapons (Ranked)

Since the launch of Season 17, Destiny 2 players have been hyped for the return of six opulent weapons that were sunset from Season of Opulence when Beyond Light launched. They’re back and better than ever, almost all of them S-tier in both PvE and PvP. There are a few that lag behind, but they have significant advantages over a lot of other weapons, like S-tier perk pools and craftability. I haven’t gotten around to crafting any of them yet, but those who have are well-contented with their labors.

6. Fixed Odds

Fixed Odds is the ugly duckling of the bunch, but that’s not its own fault. It can roll with some pretty good perks on a MG like Feeding Frenzy, Incandescent, and Killing Tally, but that’s not nearly enough to justify slotting a machine gun into the loadout. “Add clear” isn’t really a role, but Thunderlord is still better for clearing adds. I guess it has a lot of add-clear potential with things like Incandescent, but it’s garbage for boss DPS.

5. The Epicurean

Precision Frame weapons in Destiny 2 generally don’t get a lot of love, and the Epicurean is no exception. Adaptive Frames are generally to be preferred in almost any scenario, but that Snapshot Sights/Backup Plan roll seems like it’s the answer to all my slow-charging fusion rifle concerns. Good in those sticky situations, but ya think if it was that good, I’d see it in the Crucible more often…

4. Drang (Baroque)

Drang has good potential in PvP and PvE as well, but I’d say it’s better in the former. My Quickdraw/Incandescent is pretty trusty when paired with a longer-range exotic primary (*cough cough* Jade Rabbit *cough cough*), but Disruption Break is pretty good too. An excellent dueling sidearm with a lot of great rolls to chase.

3. CALUS Mini-Tool

Ironically, the Mini-Tool is better for add-clear than Fixed Odds is: it has infinite ammo, can roll with Incandescent, and a bunch of other cool “in-the-fray” perks can roll in the third column. I don’t know if I’d say it’s better than Multimach for PvP, but at least you can still get the Mini-Tool. I haven’t used it much due to not having that great of a roll, but chasing this gun for a god roll won’t be a waste of your time.

2. Beloved

Right now, this is the energy weapon Sniper Rifle to be using in PvP. It has everything you could want: Snapshot Sights, Quickdraw, No Distractions, Disruption Break, and Incandescent. It’s missing a decent PvE perk in the fourth column except for Box Breathing, I guess, but that Quickdraw/Snapshot Sights roll is pretty godly, and you can craft it with the exact rolls you want.

1. Austringer

Hand Cannons are just the best. They have very little competition, and only in long ranges are they found incompetent. Austringer is the best of the best when it comes to crafting: Opening Shot, Rangefinder, Outlaw, Triple Tap, Snapshot Sights, and the list goes on. Strong archetype? Check! Craftable? Check! Amazing combination of perks? Check!
