5. Kilo 141

This fully automatic assault rifle does not exactly excel in any one specific aspect but is on this list because it is a well-rounded and easy to use weapon. This weapon was used by Captain John Price in the modern warfare campaign and was shown to be a badass weapon used by a powerful soldier. This weapon is honestly the perfect starter assault rifle. 

What makes Kilo 141 awesome:

  • It’s the gun John Price uses in the campaign with a variety of attachments
  • Very well-rounded weapon 
  • It’s the first assault rifle that you unlock
  • It beats out a lot of other AR’s in the accuracy department
  • Has the option for a 100 round drum mag

Kilo 141 details: 

  • A full-auto weapon with a 3 burst option
  • Fires 5.56 NATO ammo
  • Standard 30 round mag with 50, 60, and 100 round options
  • It’s a 4-6 body shot kill
  • Has a 779 RPM 

4. M4A1

The M4A1 is a classic weapon that has been seen many times in the past and continues to return. This gun is a bit faster and has a longer range at the cost of a slightly higher, yet predictable recoil. This weapon is used by multiple modern militaries. I like the versatility with this weapon where you can use it almost like an SMG or as a longer range AR.

What makes M4A1 awesome:

  • This weapon was featured in nearly every Call of Duty game
  • It has 3 different options to choose from for ammunition
  • It is used in the United States Marine Corps
  • It is used by Alex as a primary weapon for a few parts of the campaign
  • Only have to be level 6 to unlock this weapon
  • Can be turned into an SMG essentially with the right attachments

M4A1 details:

  • 833 RPM
  • 5.56 NATO, 9mm Parabellum, and .458 SOCOM ammo options
  • Optional 3 round burst modification
  • It is a 3-6 shot kill depending on placement and multiplier
  • Is more effective out to mid-range fights

3. Grau 5.56

The Grau 5.56 is another fully automatic weapon, this one being added in season two. The Grau has a solid damage profile, great accuracy, and a moderate rate of fire. There are some pretty special barrels that you can add as attachments which give you a lot of options with the gun. I think it’s a fairly decent weapon although not at the top of its class for damage.

What makes Grau 5.56 awesome:

  • It is more lightweight making it more maneuverable
  • Medium-Long range while maintaining more mobility
  • The Pumpkin Punisher is a blueprint for the Grau that was only available for a limited time
  • The 5.56 ammo is common making it easier to scavenge
  • This weapon features more options for barrel attachments

Grau 5.56 details:

  • It is a 4-6 shot kill
  • 30 round magazine with 50 and 60 round options
  • 240ms TTK
  • 750 RPM
  • It has a predictable vertical recoil

2. FAL

Our first semi-automatic weapon on this list, and it is special because it was featured in MW2, BO, and BO2. This weapon has the damage of a marksman with a much higher firing rate and can kill in 3 shots at a distance. This weapon is such a fantastic option because of its distinct range and the damage it deals.

What makes FAL awesome:

  • Because of the aforementioned games that this weapon was featured in
  • The much higher damage profile than other same-class weapons
  • A movement speed of 94%
  • It is one of few non-sniper weapons that can kill in 3 shots at any range
  • Stopping power is not necessary with this weapon which gives you room for pretty much an additional field upgrade

FAL details:

  • 485 RPM fire rate
  • Unlock at level 32
  • Reload time is just under 3.5s
  • Damage range of 35-55
  • TTK 124ms

1. AN-94

I placed this weapon in the number one spot because there are some very interesting features that distinguish it from the rest. It is a full-auto Russian assault rifle that packs quite the punch. The 2 round burst before you experience recoil gives you a solid time and damage advantage. 

What makes AN-94 awesome:

  • My favorite thing about this weapon is that when you first pull the trigger it has a 2-shot rapid burst
  • The first two shots are fired before you experience any recoil helping you have tighter groupings
  • A very predictable recoil pattern
  • It is a 3-4 shot kill
  • Up to 1100 RPM as a semi-auto

AN-94 details:

  • TTK 109ms up to 21 m
  • TTK 327ms over 44 m
  • Movement speed 91% 
  • Firing-rate 550 RPM 
  • Around a 2.5s reload time
  • 30 round magazines
