Josh has been a gamer his entire life, from the first time he picked up an NES controller to finish the obscure port of Addams Family: Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt to the modern day struggle of too many games, not enough time. As a hobbyist game developer, he has seen both sides of the table, and has hosted game jams to encourage the flood of fantastic new ideas they can bring. From indie to triple-A, he's always looking for a new experience to enjoy and dissect.

He has a particular fondness for platformers, because that's where his gaming tastes began. From the old classics of Mario, Mega Man, Metroid, and Castlevania to newer indies Super Meat Boy, Celeste, and so on. He also adores first-person shooters from Doom in 1994 to Doom in 2016 and beyond, and the stealthy shenanigans of games like Mark of the Ninja and the Hitman series. It doesn't matter if the game was made 30 years ago or yesterday - anything can be fun, if it's well-crafted and built with care.

Gaming and writing have gone hand-in-hand throughout Josh's life. He's written fantasy stories to expand on the escapism of gaming, poems to express a quick burst of emotion, and articles to share information with the world. The best finish to a gaming experience is to reflect on it and share thoughts with wonderful readers like you.
