Which of these RPGs would make a Blockbuster movie?
Gamers have always fantasized over their favorite plots becoming films. Now, these wishes are becoming reality with Warcraft, Tomb Raider, and Assassin's Creed. Hollywood is finally realizing that it is time to utilize the complex plots games have.
With the list below, you can imagine what sort of movies these popular RPGs would make and find movies already made that are similar.
11. Fallout New Vegas
After he survives an ambush, Courier 6 decides to track down the person who attempted to kill him. On his way, he travels through post-apocalyptic desert towns in the United States.
Three powers—Mr. House, The New California Republic, and Caesar’s Legion—vie for control. You have a choice between joining one of these powers, or teaming up with a mobster.
If Fallout New Vegas was made into a movie, some cast members could include Chris Pratt and Jude Law. Pratt would bring personality to the protagonist, while Law would be interesting to watch as a mobster.
Some movies that share commonalities with Fallout New Vegas include Apocalypse Now, Mad Max, and The Book of Eli.

10. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
There can be no doubt that Witcher has a complex storyline. The basics are that a monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, must find an emperor’s daughter. This woman, Ciri, has (powers).
With the Wild Hunt seeking to capture her, and encounters between spirits, a sorceress, and curses, it is a high adrenaline adventure. The many battles between vicious characters and creatures add to the high stakes.
The perfect actor for Geralt would be Jason Isaacs, who as we saw when he played Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, can pull off platinum blond hair. Or perhaps Viggo Mortensen, since he has the great experience of being Aragorn, the sword-wielding warrior in The Lord of the Rings. In those movies, he showed he could look like a rugged survivor, and fight monsters with style.
For Ciri, Jennifer Lawrence would be a good fit. She knows how to play fighters with complex personalities, as she demonstrated while acting in The Hunger Games and in the X-Men movies.
Yennefer could be played by Liv Tyler, with her similar looks. She has never portrayed a character quite like Yennefer, however.
Movies similar to Witcher 3 are The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Ladyhawke, and Snow White and the Huntsman.

After a door to Oblivion—a land in another dimension that is filled with supernatural beings named Daedra—is opened, the hero must find a way to shut it. To do this, he has to enter the Oblivion realm. During the protagonist’s quest, he infiltrates the cult who opened the gate, finds the heir to the throne, and ends the invasion.
Since the protagonist is a blank slate that players shape, he could be portrayed by many actors. Ben Affleck, as evidenced in his role in Batman V. Superman, can bulk up and deliver a stunning performance as a main character.
Sean Bean, who provided the voice for Martin, also looks strikingly similar to the illegitimate heir. He would work well since those who played Elder Scrolls would recognize his voice, and because of the similarities in features.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, King Arthur, Robin Hood, and Legend all have a hint of Elder Scrolls Oblivion in them.

7. Baldur's Gate 2
After you and your companions are captured, you must escape the mage holding you captive. Irenicus, the mage, is arrested and placed in an asylum, but escapes. As such, you have to track him down confront him. Once you have defeated him, you decide to help elves return to their city, Suldanessellar, which Irenicus hid.
In a Baldur's Gate 2 feature film, Gerald Butler would make a fantastic Gorion. With his strong, masculine appearance, he fits the bill. On the other hand, Patrick Stewart is similar in countenance to Irenicus.
Labyrinth, Troy, Conan the Barbarian, and Pathfinder can all help you get your fantasy fix after you finish playing Baldur's Gate 2.

6. Diablo
Once upon a time there was a peaceful monastery. Or, it was peaceful until Diablo, the Lord of Terror tricked the archbishop to free Diablo from his prison. Then Diablo possesses the king and prince, and terrorizes the town above with his demons and monsters. It is the hero’s quest to destroy these terrors and battle Diablo.
The tricky thing about considering a Diablo movie is that there are three playable classes. Either film writers would have to choose one, or use all three. If they went with three, a stellar cast could consist of Jason Momoa as the warrior, Natalie Portman as the rogue, and Henry Cavill as the sorcerer.
There are many flicks that contain supernatural elements. Some of those include Horns, The Mummy, and Hellboy.

5. Borderlands
Mining corporations seek treasure while others seek a fabled weapons vault on the desert planet Pandora. You are one of the latter. While receiving instructions from a woman shrouded in mystery, you must collect artifacts to complete a vault key.
Again, the issue with making a movie from a video game with multiple playable characters or classes is that in the end either characters are cut or that all must be in the movie at the same time. But if all were included, Anne Hathaway as Lilith, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Brick, Robert Downey Jr. as Mordecai, and Anthony Mackie as Roland would result in a blockbuster.
Cowboys Vs. Aliens, The Magnificent Seven, City of Ember, and Day of the Falcon all have a pinch of Borderlands flavor in them.

4. System Shock 2
A soldier from the United National Nominate attempts to stop a genetic infection on a cyberpunk spacecraft. On the spaceship he is forced to destroy infected crew members and decide how to interact with SHODAN, the artificial intelligence who caused the outbreak with her bioengineering experiments.
Denzel Washington as the protagonist, and Lupita Nyong’o as SHODAN could shine with their extraordinary skills.
Science fiction movies that are comparable to System Shock 2 include 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Trek, and Planet of the Apes. There are also plenty of films featuring disease and epidemics, such as Contagion, Maggie, and Outbreak.

In this futuristic space adventure, humans have finally joined the Citadel Council. Commander Shepard receives a distress signal from a planet who has unearthed a Prothean beacon.
Saren, a turian council member, beats Shepard to the planet, and becomes used by the Reapers. These Reapers lure a society in with the Mass Relay system to the Citadel. However, once that society starts flourishing, the Reapers strike and cause genocide. They have repeated this cycle for thousands upon thousands of years. Shepard must stop this from happening again.
As players can choose whether Shepard is male or female, there would be great room for choice on actors and actresses for the role. Halle Berry or Angelina Jolie would be strong, attractive female choices, while Dwayne Johnson or Dolph Lundgren would fit well as a male Shepard.
Some movies that are similar to Mass Effect include Star Trek Into Darkness, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Matrix, and Blade Runner.

2. Darkest Dungeon
Your ancestor created terrible evils in and around the family estate with dark magic and necromancy, and it is your duty to destroy them. It is no fun, lighthearted journey, however. Instead, it takes heavy tolls upon the mind and body.
Many want to go on adventures, but this cautionary tale warns of what might really happen. This is no defeat-the-dragon-and-go-home story, but a look at what would happen if one had to experience a dark quest.
Scarlett Johansson would be able to fantastically portray the Grave Robber. The Grave Robber has a sharp wit and dark sense of humor, and Johansson could bring that out.
As for the Highwayman, Hugo Weaving’s mysterious air and generally quiet nature is similar. He would have no issue bringing to life the Highwayman’s desire for redemption, his fast skills, or his cynical nature.
Lastly, Hugh Jackman, with his strong build and experience with action films, could be an excellent fit for the Hound Master.

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Of course, no RPG list would be complete without the classic Skyrim. In this well-known game, the protagonist is being led to his execution when an enormous black dragon god named Alduin attacks the town. Later, he discovers he is a Dragonborn, and has the duty of defeating the dragons and Alduin.
Joe Manganiello could no do doubt be a stellar fit as the main character, although Chris Hemsworth would also do wonderfully. As for Delphine, Charlize Theron is worthy of this popular character.
Pan’s Labyrinth, Maleficent, The Golden Compass, Eragon, and Beowulf can help you get your fantasy fix while you hopefully wait for a Skyrim feature film.
